My husband and I arrived to take up residence in San Miguel De Allende three weeks ago.  Had we not enjoyed a video call with Tho Waring and Lucia Garza of Coldwell BankerSmart in September, two short months ago, it is highly unlikely we would be here today planning to celebrate Thanksgiving!

We had been researching Mexico for some time but ‘meeting’ our agents online for a one hour visit, just prior to our actual site visit was the turning point.

On arrival, Tho and Lucia gave us a comprehensive tour and shortlisted properties they believed would be suitable for us.

From their network of properties we were shown to a lovely villa with amazing amenities within a newly developed gated community just outside the center in a great location (without cobblestones, lol) that we love! Every possible amenity is only moments away, as is Centro. Our very affordable monthly rental would not be believed by US standards.

We owe our status as new, albeit temporary residents, to Tho and Lucia who we would highly recommend as agents to find your perfect home in San Miguel!

My wife and I hired Daniel Ortiz (Coldwell Banker Smart) after interviewing several other
agents/agencies in SMA, none of whom presented themselves and their firm as professionally,
market competent, marketing savvy and passionate about our home and securing our business.
From the first minute we met until the end of closing, Daniel (and his team) were fully engaged
- attentive to our needs and concerns as sellers, creators of a dynamic multilayered
international luxury property marketing campaign and client outreach strategy. And most
importantly, they delivered on every single one of their promises; resulting in a sale after only
2.5 months on market.
As a point of reference, we used a different broker and agency to buy our property as they had
the listing. We did interview the original broker as part of our due diligence but found her and
her agency’s approach and attitude toward us and the property to be “rinse and repeat.”
Disconcerting as we made significant enhancements to the property – new pool, renovated
prep kitchen, etc. Daniel brought a fresh eye and new perspective to the entirety of the house
and grounds, using the upgrades and renovations to brilliantly present Casa Toscana as “luxury
resort living in San Miguel.”
Daniel and his team are true professionals, and equally important, good people. You can settle
for “okay” and work with other brokers/agencies in SMA, or you can work with the best - an
agent and a team that will treat you and respect you like family, not just another “client” to
make money off of.

Danna is incredibly professional and talented at what she does.  She knows the market and has a solid legal team by her side. I initially met Danna when I purchased a home in San Miguel de Allende and she was the sellers agent.  I was so impressed with her that when I decided to sell my house, she was who I called.  She took amazing photos, and worked tirelessly to market my home.  Even though the market was saturated, she was determined to sell my house. Her positivity and consistent marketing and communication made me feel that everything possible was being done to show my home.  In the end we found a great buyer and she created a smooth and easy transaction by handling all the details and making sure I knew what needed to be done and when. The closing went perfectly and was seamless. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone and I will use her again and again when I buy or sell anything in San Miguel.

My wife and I started the process of moving to San Miguel one year before we actually came here. We were fortunate enough to have met Thomas and Lucia on a visit here before moving. We told them that we were considering buying a home here, at which time they gave us their contract information, and said to please let them know if they could help in any way. I did just that. They helped us with everything, from always being there to answer any questions or concerns, to helping us find a place to rent while we looked for a home to buy. They could not have been more patient, and understanding, as to how intimidating it can be for a person to move to another country and buy a home. My wife and I are seventy years old, and Thomas and Lucia made us feel like we had younger family members here to help us. We could not be more grateful.

I have acquired 7 or 8 investment properties over the past 2 decades and I will say Thó and Lucía in San Miguel de Allende have by far exceeded my expectations. All of the people involved in my purchase in San Miguel have been professional, courteous, knowledgeable and proficient. We had a friendly first meeting and when I decided to purchase here I reached out to him for help. I knew he would steer us in the right direction. He could not have paired us with a more perfect team-Thomas Waring and Lucia Garza. They spent 2 days showing us property and focusing on what we wanted and delivered. We found the property that checked all the boxes so to speak. They have been so kind and patient through my closing this week.
