1.Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez Nigromante

This emblematic place was built in the 18th century as the Convento Real de la Concepción. However, in 1938 Felipe Cossío del Pomar installed the Escuela Universitaria de Bellas Artes in this space, and since then it has been a space dedicated to art and culture. In this cultural center you can appreciate murals by renowned artists such as David Alfaro Siqueiros, Pedro Martínez and Eleanor Cohen. And just a few steps away you will find the old temple that today we locally call “Las Monjas”.

2.Museo Casa de Allende

Although today it is a historical museum, this place was the residence of Ignacio Allende. The 17th century building fuses baroque and neoclassical to welcome all visitors who want to immerse themselves in a wonderful journey through history. The museum recounts the characteristics of the pre-Hispanic cultures of the region and the founding story of the town of San Miguel El Grande. Also, in this museum you can learn more about the independence movement and the life of Allende.

3.Museo La Esquina

The Museo del Juguete Popular Mexicano, better known as La Esquina Museum, was born more than 50 years ago with the aim of making our cultural wealth known through a collection of more than 3,500 pieces of traditional toys. In addition to recognizing the creativity and historical legacy of our craftsmen and craftswomen who use different techniques to create unique pieces.

4.Museo La Otra Cara de México

In this museum you can find a large collection of Mexican ceremonial masks. The owner and museologist Bill LeVasseur has dedicated himself for more than 25 years to collecting these historical remains that reflect the particularities of each indigenous culture and tradition. Here you can find guided tours accompanied by audiovisual materials that will tell you about the symbolic value of these masks.

5. Casa del Mayorazgo

This casona was built at the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century in a Baroque style combined with touches of Italian and French architectural tradition.
