From August 26 to 30, 2021, San Miguel de Allende hosted the sixth edition of Barra Mexico, the most important cocktail and spirits Bar Show in Mexico and Latin America. Throughout this week, the event brought together creators and lovers of fine drinking from different latitudes who were able to enjoy different events, workshops and tastings of the best and most innovative products and brands.
Barra Mexico, also known as the “Cannes of good drinking”, in its 5 years of existence has promoted Mexico as a world reference in premium alcoholic beverages and distillates of the highest quality. Year after year the event has become one of the most important networking platforms for industry professionals who share their knowledge of mixology, presentation and consumption of these drinks. It is also a space open to the knowledgeable public who wants to explore the latest trends in fine drinking.
For the first time the event was held in Guanajuato, specifically in the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende renowned for its architecture, history and flourishing culinary culture. Barra Mexico 2021 was divided into two experiences: Villa Barra México and BM Cocktail Week. Villa Barra was lived outdoors in Viñedos San Lucas and had a variety of seminars, workshops and the presentation of different types of wines, spirits, beers and national products of recognized brands in Mexico and the world. BM Cocktail Week had activations in 30 consumption centers and 6 official venues in the city, in which workshops, tastings, brunches, pairing dinners and events with live music were presented, among other activities.
An important aspect to highlight is that the event had strict COVID-19 prevention protocols, in addition to being the first Bar Show with a Climate Positive philosophy that seeks to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing the use of single-use plastics.
